And, not choosing is still a choice. Refusing the choose the least bad inherently aids the worst. And then let’s say they do somehow believe that Harris and Trump are equivalent on this issue. That it is a wash. All that does is put literally every other aspect of Trump into play. And, on a person note, that includes his support of trans genocide. (There’s a reason so many trans people tried to commit suicide when Trump was elected.) Do I think we need to give people something to vote for? Of course. But the fact that Democratic party is also partly to blame does not absolve these people. They claim to not only be against the Gazan genocide, but to be against all the other things Trump supports. Yet they couldn’t bring themselves to try and stop him. Those people deserve blame for that. And fuck the ones who voted for Trump. ---

That doesn’t mean the genocide has ended. That doesn’t mean the atrocities are over. But what it does mean is just how hollow “just do a Google search” sounds. The whole situation is much more complicated than that. And we aren’t just “claiming” to care. I’ve tried to explain the impact that a live-streamed genocide has had on a very large number of people. Its been dismissed as Gish gallop. But all you are doing is confirming my worst fears. America is fucked. You just _don’t care_. You are more angry at a statistical handful of voters than you are with your leaders who are responsible for pain, death and misery. You will never hold these leaders accountable. There were literally only two candidates up for election, Trump and Harris, and Harris had pledged to continue Biden’s policies. The Democrats shut down all pro-Palestinian voices. They weren’t allowed to speak at the convention. They were getting beaten up, doxxed and expelled from college campuses. Fired from their jobs. They sent Bill Clinton to Michigan, where he talked about Judea and Samaria. The “people that needed to be stopped” were Biden and Harris. I _know_ people here are struggling to understand this. But the reality is there is a casual indifference to Palestinian life. This isn’t a MAGA or a Democrat thing or an American thing. This is a global thing. All over the world people treat Palestinians as subhuman. You can see it here in this very thread. You have the worst offenders like Smapti. But then you have people who can’t even bring up the word ‘genocide’. Where their bigotry is hidden under the surface. I know you are better than this. I didn’t use to understand how the Holocaust happened. I couldn’t understand how people could just stand by while millions of Jews were slaughtered. But this is how. The idea that because there was a treaty in place, America can ignore their obligations under the Genocide Convention to prevent and to punish the crime of genocide is just the most ridiculous fucking thing I’ve read here today. How can you prioritise a treaty over stopping the genocide of a group of people? You (not you personally, but generic ‘you’) would _happily watch them die rather_ than admit that Biden was complicit with their genocide. You are the Germans who lived next door to the concentration camps that pretended that nothing was happening. So no: people were not just “claiming” to care about the genocide in Gaza. They spent three years watching babies get decapitated, and they simply wanted it to stop. They actually cared. I think in the long term, if they voted for Trump, they made a mistake. But I also think it’s perfectly understandable why they chose to do so. The only way forward is not to dwell on this. Because we really don’t have another choice. You either try to win them over at the next election or you try and do it without them. And you saw how that ended up last time. The entire point of my posts isn’t to “defend them” but to show the path forward. Again: Mamdani ended that video NOT talking about what was happening in Gaza but with a _list of policies that made people want to vote for him_. You have to _give people something to vote for_. ---

Do you support IDF members committing atrocities like rape, on camera, with no consequences? Because that happened. And that was on camera. How many atrocities have they committed that weren’t on camera? That was for a particular reason because while the mass killings that were common under both Biden AND the early term of Trump are rightly called a slaughter, what is happening now in Gaza is no less insidious and is no less part of a genocide, but I used “trauma” to indicate people are being killed by bombs, drones and sniper fire as opposed to the many that are dying from the siege, from disease and from the lack of healthcare. It is still a genocide. It was a genocide under Biden, and it’s a genocide under Trump. On Trump’s watch we saw the rise of the _Gaza Humanitarian Foundation_, which was quite possibly the most Orwellian example of the depravity on display in Gaza. Over 2,500 people were slaughtered just trying to get food. And it was emblematic of how the genocide changed when Trump took over. While the siege was in place during Biden’s presidency, under Trump we got a _deliberately engineered famine_. The idea that I’m giving Trump “a pass” can be disproven by simply reading any of my other posts at the time. I’m focused on Biden here in this thread for one simple reason: it’s _you guys_ who are giving Biden a pass. ---
