I can see the sealioning issue. But I’m not trolling. My goal here is to communicate with people not set them off. And the message I’m communicating is you need to be able to have a polite discussion with people, even when you disagree with something they’re saying. So as part of that, I’ve tried to remain polite with people in this thread even when I disagree with what they’re saying. ---

Calling people hysterical. The language you use is entirely within your control, and you have chosen to double down on something that you have been told is inflammatory and offensive. If you choose to use language that offends, you will get people angry at you. It’s the way people work. ---

Okay, then let’s get back on the issues I described in the OP. Let’s say there are some people who believe Trump and the Republicans are committing genocide. They think we should vote against Trump and the Republicans. And let’s say there are some people who don’t believe Trump and the Republicans are committing genocide. They also think we should vote against Trump and the Republicans. You belong in one of these two groups. You meet a person who belongs in the other group. How would you converse with this person on the issue of Trump and the Republicans? Would you argue with them over the topic of genocide, on which the two of you disagree? Or would you avoid the topic of genocide and discuss your shared view that we should be voting against Trump and the Republicans?
