Every “list whats important to you an we’ll match a candidate” test I’ve taken has put Bush and Kerry at less than 50% agreement with me (in most cases, lower than that). So, they’re not the same in that they have the same opinions, they’re the same in that I want neither to do with either of them. Fuck both of them.
Voted Badnarik today, but the main reason I went to vote was to vote no for the Georgia Marriage Ammendment.
See, that’s exactly the sort of crap that gets me turned off of the whole two party system. Are you seriously equating W with Adolf fucking Hitler? Hell, he ain’t even LBJ, if you want to venture into “number killed” territory.
Look, I see the damn point, that Bush has fucked up his first four years so he’s going to fuck up the next. And thank you, chula for actually coming out and being specific.
But guys, who the hell do you think he’s going to invade? He clearly went into Iraq for the oil. So that counts out most potential invadees, such as Korea and Sudan, as possible next targets. Really, the only potential target with oil is Iran, and even W ain’t that stupid. So if he’s re-elected, I don’t see him or Kerry doing anything all that different on the foreign policy front.
Now, if you think you can convince me, go ahead and try. But you ain’t gonna do it by just pointing out “Bush started a war in Iraq that should never have happened” or trying to tell me Bush is Adolf Hitler.
No. You are incorrectly extending my analogy, which seems to be number one on the logical fallacy hit parade around here. I was pointing out how utterly fucking asinine it is to re-elect a politician who has made major mistakes under the reasoning of “what’s done is done”. It’s mind-boggling that I should even have to explain this, but I was not saying, “George W. Bush is exactly identical to Hitler in every way.”
Are you really so fucking stupid that you thought that was what I meant?
MaxTheVool, understand, it’s nothing personal. I don’t have any problem with you or your point of view. I understand where you’re coming from and what Roland said. It’s a valid point of view. It’s just not my point of view. Remember, you pitted my point of view here, not the other way around. If you had simply titled this thread “There is a Difference Between Kerry and Bush Dammit!” I would never have responded and let it pass without comment. But since you are apparently saying my point of view here is invalid, I felt the need to respond. Still, we can agree to disagree, right?
I already voted, and I didn’t vote for Bush, and I didn’t vote for Kerry, so really this is all a moot point anyway.
Except that I wasn’t pitting your point of view. I think. You DO see a difference between Bush and Kerry, you just (to oversimplify things) don’t care.
I think you’re extremely wrong, to be blunt, but as long as you’re not claiming that Bush and Kerry are just clones of each other, you are not who I’m pitting.
Or maybe I am. At this point, I’m too nervous about the damn election to be very precise about anything else.
