Why do people keep blaming the fans for that poor woman’s death? The police killed her. ---

I was wondering if the OP had forgotten the Yankee Stadium boos of Jeter during the regular season (not the post-season, which is more important - the regular season). Granted, he was batting something like .00000001 at the time, but that’s no reason for the auto-booing. ISTR him saying that even his parents were catching shit for his sub-par plate performance. ---

The Sox fans booed only one person Dale Sveum, who has consistently cost runs by his decisions at third base. I thought it was much more recent than that, based on, well, based on how bloody often everyone brings it up. Nevertheless, having been to more than a few, or gew, Phillies games during the 1999-2002 period, and having heard what apparently happened to Billy Wagner earlier this season, I contend that the only way Santa could avoid getting booed again would be if he could keep his fastball consistently above 100 mph. As to why the story lives on, I guess it’s one of them cultural shorthand things, like the supposed love the French have for old Jerry Lewis movies.
