I pit Rush Limbaugh for being an idiot about birth control

I agree with that, too. I imagine a lot of women are like me and use it for both, but even if I just used it for birth control, that wouldn’t make me a slut. If anything could make me a slut, it wouldn’t be taking a pill every night.

Of course, I deny that Limbaugh has any standing to comment on anyone’s morality, except maybe Jeffrey Dahmer’s. Maybe.

I only caught about five minutes of El Rushbo’s show a little while ago while off on a lunch break, so I can’t say if this is going to be his standard response to this whole falderall, but he was going on about how it’s the “Democrat party” who started the whole controversy for insisting that a woman – a woman, ferchrisakes! - be included in the panel for a hearing on contraception and how it affects women.
He’s also referring to her now as “Sandra Fluck.”
I’m sure glad he apologized so we could see what a truly upstanding individual he really is.

I don’t understand why you think that is relevant to the price of birth control pills. It could relate to pharmacies that won’t carry birth control at all. I haven’t found it is any cheaper in foreign countries, except where it is subsidized by the government.

I wonder if class action suits against birth control pill makers mean that the legal insurance cost more than making the pills.

Try this one.

AOL dropped sponsorship of Rush today. Lear Capital is giving wishy washy statements and testing the waters; I think people would have more respect if they’d just say “We’re sticking with him”.

Patricia Heaton from Everybody Loves Raymond, one of the most viciously conservative actors in Hollywood, was a cheerleader for Rush on her Twitter account for several days, even retelling the “aspirin between the knees” joke (I honestly remember that from the '70s- why can’t conservatives get decent comedy material?) and suggesting her “Tweatons” (as she calls her Twitter followers) send Fluke condoms to stock her up (because Fluke is in the Guinness Book of World Records for most sex per hour of any mammal apparently).

With the backlash and with Rush’s unpology Heaton didn’t apologize. Instead she deleted the tweets, apparently not familiar with the concept of screencaps. Now, she’s deleted her Twitter account.

And you fucking brazen sluts still haven’t learned your lesson. I guess some more slut-shaming is in order.

grabs a rolled up newspaper and starts whacking people

Stop it.
Stop it.
Stop being a slut.
Stop being a slut right this minute.

I’m a guy, is it ok if I just dial it down to “easy”?

Just shot across the street for a coffee - latest Rushbo salvo: Wag the Pill! It’s the damned Democrat party that is making this an issue. They’re making up a “Republican’s War on Women.” You see, the Republicans don’t even enter into the picture at all!

Those sneaky fucking Democrats.

Well, OK 'Luci. As long as we don’t have to buy you dinner or or clean out the back seat of the Chevelle.

Lord, we are a sly bunch.

Does anyone wonder if this will be Rush’s ‘Glenn Beck’ Moment? That point were he becomes to crazy even for the Mainstream Conservative Crazy Train, like Fox news and Clear Channel, and has to go it alone?

You know it’s bad when Santorum basically says “you know, I hate women as much as the next guy, but there’s no need to be uncivil about it.”

Here’s a list, including the sponsors who say they have dropped him.

His show is syndicated by Premier Radio Networks and its parent company, Clear Channel Communications.

ETA: Peter Gabriel Withdraws Use of His Song “Sledgehammer” from Rush’s show. Can’t believe he allowed it at all.

It was probably managed through his publishing company.

Thank you Peter!

From Wonkette: liberals have a “willingness to say or do anything to advance their agenda. But this is the mistake I made,” admitted Mr. Limbaugh, humbly. “In fighting them on this issue last week, I became like them. Against my own instincts, against my own knowledge, against everything I know to be right and wrong, I descended to their level, when I used those two words to describe Sandra Fluke, I became like them, and I feel very badly about that.” He continued, “I have always tried to maintain a very high degree of integrity and independence on this program.”

Well, OK then. It was the liberals’ fault. Nothing to see here…move along…

Thanks!

Have the paper towel roll manufacturers dropped their sponsorship yet?

Ron Paul and John McCain are probably the two biggest Republican names to speak out against him. Many other Republicans hate him because they live in fear of him; Michael Steele and Phil Gingrey are just two who had to crawl on their knees through snow to kiss his fat ass when they criticized him and he can do the same to many others.

If he ever does start to fall, that’s when the other Republicans will run out with daggers raised and it will be damned vicious. This alone won’t do it (though I think it has hurt his show more financially than any previous of his slurs), but a couple of more and he might be done- still very damned rich but done careerwise.

I believe it because it’s exactly the way some teenage girls behave, with indirect aggression and alliance building by attacking other girls. I remember being treated the same way when I was a teenager for other reasons. Limbaugh just gave them an excuse. Read Odd Girl Out , it gives a good explanation of what I’m talking about.
