I’m sure Shodan has been pitted before - so sure I didn’t even search for it - but I want to pit him again. that whole “Regards” thing - so passive agressive and childish - so whiny, such a crybaby. didn’t used to bother me but today it does. people on this message boards can be nazis or MRAs, assholes or incompetent, liars or Russian bots. also tattletales and crybabies. and for the rest of you? it’s a greeting to extend wishes that you all enjoy your holiday - I’m going to get up and make the deviled eggs any moment. and it’s something he says _because he knows it annoys_ childish, is how it strikes me. ---

I can think of lots of things to pit **Shodan** for but I can’t tell if the OP is about any of them apart from his signature signature [sic], which is not one of the things that bother me. When come back, bring clarification (and pumpkin pie). ---

On non-political threads he can be an articulate and constructive poster. On anything with a potential political slant he ignores most of the responses and only stops by to accuse everyone in snarky drivebys of IOKIADDIism whilst simultaneously handwaving away any right-wing malfeasance on a IOKIARDI basis. Projection is a harsh mistress. ---

That’s what I came in here to say. I’d describe Shodan’s “Regards” as a form of low-level trolling—maybe “trolly” is the right adjective. It doesn’t particularly bother me, but I don’t see it as entirely benign either. Shodan is one of those right-wingers who seems to think that “pissing off liberals” is one of the primary goals of conservatism, and “Regards” is his permanently-extended middle finger towards anyone who is Not Republican. I feel the same way about “Democrat Party.” It’s a childish epithet, but it gets an eye-roll from me at most. It’s possible to acknowledge that something is intended to be annoying without being personally bothered by it (a point that seems to elude some Dopers). ---
