# I pit Spectre of Pithecanthropus' wife

They’re the house centipedes. I am not creeped out by them at all, they actually kind of seem to fit in with the unfinished basement. They’re cool bugs! But gee whiz, the thing in your first centipede link looks like it just crawled straight out of Gehenna, I would really hate to run across one of those :eek: In any case, I don’t want to squish them. It might be possible to catch the big ones and put them back downstairs if it came to it (putting them outside is going to be a death sentence this time of year), but again, we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.

For the sake of **The Great Unwashed** , allow me to condescend to do you the favor of pointing out that your tastes in centipedes are exactly backwards, that this probably indicates some unspecified flaw of character, and that you ought to embark on a programme of introspection, meditation, and finally repentance to correct it before Everyone Notices, to your great embarrassment. Even if no one notices, it would be a shame to continue on forever in that compromised state. Do it for your own sake, **Spice Weasel**.
