We’re not talking past each other. You’re being an idiot and once again you get things exactly backwards. The facts about 9/11 and the intelligence failures that led up to it are now widely known precisely because the media, along with the 9/11 Commission, thoroughly investigated it and exposed the facts. This was possible because there was a strong and unified non-partisan interest in establishing all the facts about a national tragedy.

Trump is the exact opposite. The media overall has been inept about assiduously exposing his lies, like for instance the absence of fact-checking during the debate and letting him get away with avoiding answering direct questions. But more importantly, the right-wing media whose viewers and readers are inclined to vote for him rarely covers any of the exposures of his lies and in fact often actively promotes them. The blatant partisanship is so extreme that those who are inclined to vote for him never even see the facts; they just see his lies being reinforced.

You have a very strange, very warped view of the world.
