This has been a long time coming. I pit Stranger for consistently awesome posts on a truly staggering variety of subjects, from ICMBs to foreign relations to, now, martinis. Said posts are always thoughtful, engaging, erudite, patient, and uniformly ignorance-fighting. They often display wit and always display careful consideration and knowledge that is both broad and deep. If Stranger was also a great pianist, world-class lover, and philanthropist, I would not be a bit surprised. I would, however, be even more inclined to the pitting, for all the above reasons. So outstanding are the posts that I suspect that Stranger is a reverse sock-puppet, that is, a consortium of experts posing as a single poster. Since I have no evidence for this suspicion and am a small and petty person jealous of such wisdom, into the pit! Put another way, thanks, Stranger, for all your work here. ---
