> Sorry, that last comment was too funny to let go by. The sad thing is that you probably think that it really is a different situation.

> It’s not. It was an economic meltdown then, it’s an economic meltdown now. Government spending screwed up the recovery then, government spending is screwing up the recovery now. The only difference is that we should have learned from our mistakes then instead of repeating them now.

Well, even if we ignore the different variables involved in the actual recession that are different, which I will grant for the sake of argument (I agree that _those_ aren’t unreasonably far off)… I wasn’t talking about those. I was talking about the laws involved. Again: _what laws has Obama passed that make the situation unreasonably worse for employers?_ Hell, you don’t even have to cite _why_, just give me a law that could realistically do that that he has passed and I will do the research myself. But hey, it seems that GIGO has not only kinda refuted your cited article, but has displayed that the methodology behind it was _heavily_ swamped by bias and ideology–ignoring the jobs created by programs like that is _completely missing the point_.

And again, because this _really_ needs to be cleared up, can the government create demand?

> Stop right there. We disagree with him because we DO understand basic economics. Ya know, minor little things like you can’t continue to spend like a drunken sailor, stuff like that.
> Door’s right over there. Don’t let it hit you in the ass on your way out.

Yeah, but for most of us that door doesn’t lead anywhere. So we have no alternative to opposing harebrained reactionism on our own soil.
