If some guy looks at my Mustang and says, “Nice car, you much a tiny dick,” I would not get overly-ruffled. In fact, having a sense of humor, I believe I’d most likely respond with, “Yeah, well it seems to satisfy your mom just fine.” Or is mom-judo verboten as well? ---

Yep, methinks the OP doth protest too much. If \*you \*know you know cars, and you know what you want in a tool for driving, great. But you also need to accept that there’s a likely a little strut or bling in your choice, or, even if there’s not (in your mind) that non-car-folk may resort to cliche jokes regardless, what’s the big deal? It shouldn’t matter if you are cool with it… ---

On a side note, I never think anybody driving a mustang is overcompensating. Those things are sweet. Around here, the douchebags drive _pristine_ four wheel drives. I have never seen anybody that drives a hummer or a Toyota Land Cruiser actually take it off road. I used to need an off road car - I drove a beat up Ford Explorer (that thing _never_ got stuck). I suppose it’s all about how you use the vehicle. ---

Your frustration in the OP is with minor noise/cheap shots that some folks take some of the time. There is a difference. Anybody who would argue that “feeling insecure about penis size” is morally equivalent to “being Jewish” in terms of inappropriateness as a subject for insult should be embarrassed about the inadequate size of his brain, not his dick. ---

I didn’t say they were morally equivelent, and I don’t think they are, the obvious point I was making was that you don’t have to be the butt of an insult to think it is something people shouldn’t say and reflects more poorly on the insulter than the target. ---

I actually see the OP’s greater point as being that we shouldn’t insult people for traits that they have no control over, especially ones as linked to self-esteem as our genitalia. It’s not a bad argument, IMO, and it’s consistent with how people here (myself included) frown upon weight-related insults. But sorry, I’m going to continue to call out racists on this board for having small penises. ---

The reason people are offended by racist insults (like using “jew” as a verb in a derogatory sense) even when they’re not personally targeted by them is because expressing bigotry towards somebody’s race or religion is considered immoral. Expressing contempt for a jerk by presuming that he’s psychologically weak enough to be insecure about the size of his genitalia, on the other hand, isn’t immoral. And the two types of insults are so different that it’s ridiculous to attempt to draw an analogy between them. Don’t get me wrong: if somebody were gratuitously mocking an innocent victim for **actually** having a small dick (as, say, bullies in locker rooms might do), that would be disgustingly cruel. (ETA: similar to what **you with the face** just said.) But mocking an asshole by pretending to think he’s **worried** about the size of his dick is simply a rather vulgar taunt. Comparing it to antisemitic or racist remarks in any way or for any reason just makes you look like you’re taking this **way** too seriously. ---

Of course you are right. But when the insulter says something racist in my direction, it is something I am more likely to stop and address. When they comment on some “stuff” that I own and what it may say about me, I shake my head and move on…again, there’s a difference. ---

Also, I think there’s a big difference between thinking or expressing this thought among friends and actually saying it to someone’s face.
