Don’t pop it off, turn it into another CTRL or ALT key. You can do that easily on any OS. Especially useful if you’ve got a laptop-style keyboard where those modifier keys are small and caps-lock is big.

In CAD I use it all the time. And have learned to keep an instance of Word open so, after typing an entire email in caps without noticing, I can switch it back to Sentence Case without retyping.

I used to hxve x problem where I would xccidently hit the CXPS LOCK button when I would type the letter X. I fiaed this problem by interchxnging the buttons for the letter X XND THE LETTER A SO i WOULD NOT DO IT XNYMORE. pROBLEM sOLVED!

I hate the caps lock key too. Its stealing the space in my keyboard and I never use it!
I always map it to something innocuous.
