I googled the judge – USF law school. But it doesn’t mention her undergraduate work, which I find highly suspicious.
Students seem to be harder to rile up these days. But mostly, this project isn’t coming out of the university budget – it’s all funded through donations.
Yes, I saw that in your OP…but in my experience, the outrage was over funds being spent on something as frivolous as athletics, no matter where the funds came from. If I am remembering correctly, myalma mater raised funds for a new scoreboard when I was in school, and students were outraged that they got people to donate $1 million for it.
