Every time you set a bar, Trump limbo-dances underneath it. Trump’s a bully. And anyone arrested or detained by police needs the presumption of their innocence to be respected. ---

Actually, I grew up on a conservative baptist household and was quite conservative in my youth. As I’ve aged, I’ve mellowed and become more accepting of the world. So have my two sisters and my father. My mother has not. If you’re becoming more conservative, it is because, like all too many conservatives, it becomes all about “Fuck you, I got mine!”. ---

People fervently believe that, right up to the instant they (or their kids) get into legal trouble. ---

I think it was the title of one of Ann Coulter’s books. I don’t know if she coined it, but I imagine that helped popularize the idea with people who walk past bookshelves. ETA: Ah, Michael Savage, not Coulter. Easy mistake to make. ---
