It was -30C on Saturday night, so I had the ski hill to myself. Not having to worry about running anyone down, I was able to let loose and tuck entire runs. The only problem was that beetling along at somewhere over 80kph created a wind chill below -50C, which led to some interesting frost on the inside of my goggles. Frosting up at that speed is a bit unnerving – but what a rush to be able to let loose at night! All in all, it was a very good evening. ---

He said 18 would have been o.k. for his oranges but the 13 has probably killed them and he wanted to know if he could sue the weatherman. DUH! We also had the first EVER snow on this date, at least since 1896, but just a dusting. It was 75 degrees last week and is going to be 60 on Wednesday (according to that weatherman). ---

This is my peeve - calling it “global warming.” I think it would make a much larger impact on people if we called it what it really is - “global weather-screwing up.” Us Canadians can’t help it if we hear “global warming” and go “ALRIGHT! 'Bout damned time!” ---

Fucking weather. Today’s been marginally okay, except for the freezing rain, but the two days of -30 C to -45 C was JUST TOO FUCKING MUCH. Of course school lets out just in fucking time for it to get too cold to leave the damn house. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. If you can hear me growling through my scarf, hooded sweater, neckwarmer and ski mask. ---

I like cold weather a lot better than heat, really do, but today’s -12 F was just excessive. (That was with windchill, and since it was blowing like crazy, overall it was colder than a bat’s ass out there.) At least the snow front dumping two feet of the stuff is swinging south of here. Thank heaven I’m off work tomorrow so I don’t have to listen to idiots bemoaning not having a white Christmas. Gee, what fun. Enjoy all that time off by shoveling snow. Grumble, grumble.
