Why did they have to bomb the end of the marathon, instead of the beginning? These people just ran 26 miles in a grueling display of physical endurance, and they get this shit as their reward? I don’t know why, but that upsets me more than anything else. It’s just _mean_. ---

Even here in the pit where I can vent basically uncensored, I can only think of simple words: disgust, sadness, loss. We cannot allow this horror we endured today to change our country for the worse. Beware the most dangerous word in all politics: ban. There will be talk of taking things from us to “protect us” when in reality, this kind of violence will be almost impossible to prevent. ---

Well, I’m not certain, but I’m willing to bet that this is domestic terrorism. I used to call this time of year “Wacko Week” commemorating Waco, Oklahoma City, Columbine, Hitler’s birthday, and all that. Now this on Tax Day? Husband would have been at a job site on Boylston St. but it made more sense to avoid the city today. What a weird feeling. I’m proud of people today, Bostonians shaking it off and sorting the wounded, outside Sugar Heaven. :headdesk: Just want to say thanks to them, for that, for holding it together and getting it done and cleaning it up. And sure, fuck those responsible, each one a self-absorbed attention-whoring sad-sack homicidal malcontent who caused harm to the city, and threatened its people and all of the guests who were there for our annual event. Really don’t care what the names are or why they did it - already heard it all. Already sick of them.
