Why do people have to be so immature when they drive? If someone really wants to pass, let them. Do not go faster, just let them pass. I hate when people tailgate too, but it happens. If people are being stupid, do not add to the stupidity. Geez. Quite frankly, both of you were being extremely immature. The OP was being more immature by just adding to the idiocy. ---

What a weird combination of macho attitude and timidity. He’s the big bad train, but he’s afraid to go more than 5 over the limit because the road is so twisty and he’s afraid of getting a ticket. ---

This is probably an appropriate place to note that when I pass someone, for whatever reason, I step on the gas, and am frequently _well_ over the speed limit when I complete the pass. The next thing I do is step on the brake until I’m within shouting distance of the speed I wish to drive at. (Which may or may not be within shouting distance of the speed limit.) If it had been I that the OP had pulled his stunt on, he’d no longer be accident-free, as he would have driven right up into my trunk. ---

This sort of stuff is why I carry a gun. As the one who can bring lethal force into the arguement, I am required to back off. Its good anger management for me. The best thing to do in that situation is to take the next off ramp and then get back on the freeway. Tailgater is gone and I’ve had a minute to calm down. ---

I do slow down and move over to the side so they can pass. The problem is that there are jerks who like to tailgate and threaten bikers. If I slow down, the jerks will slow down as well, their bumpers so close that I can’t see their faces in my mirrors. If I do the offramp thing, I won’t see them again. He’s a jackass for trying to illegally pass you. You’re a jackass for putting another person’s life (that of the oncoming car) in danger just to prove a point. Do you think that guy learned his lesson? Probably not. Jackasses all around. ---

I for one applaud the OP and wish more motorists would drive the same way. I find it saddening that people should criticize him for trying to make the world a better place. You people are selfish. I’m reminded of a little boy I know named Timmy. Timmy was on a road trio to Disney World with his parents when he developed a severe stomach ache. The doctors in Kisimee (just outside of Orlando) diagnosed it as acute gastroenteritis and performed a biopsy on little Timmy’s liver. It came back positive for cancer. Timmy needs a new liver, but unfortunately there aren’t enough livers in the organ bank to provide for Timmy’s live saving transplant, and he is stuck in the hospital having never made it to Disneyworld. We should admire the OP for trying to increase the number of transplantable organs due to traffic fatalities. Don’t you want little Timmy to make it to Disneyworld? ---

Don’t you want little Timmy to make it to Disneyworld? Sure. Give Timmy the OP’s liver, and possibly the one of the guy who was trying to pass him. But the oncoming driver should be able to keep his/hers. ---
