(Clap)…(clap)…(clap)…(clap)…bravo Mr. Bond, bravo. At least now you’re getting better. Not long ago this thread was still in the ‘yawn’ zone, it’s progressed into the ‘who really gives a crap, but it’s interesting enough to read’ mode. If this was a newspaper article I’d probably skim through it before wiping my ass with it. Honestly, l didn’t expect quite so much hostility, but of course anyone who would side with me has been chased off for fear of being caught in a shooting gallery. You have taught me something though, just how quick people are to judge someone else with little or no information about said person. Not that I care, I do happen to have substantially thick skin, arrows roll off my scales like water if you catch my drift. Believe me, there’s nothing under the sun you can call me that will have any weight to it. Just thought I’d let you know before you wasted too much of your time trying. **Monty** ’s post was by far the most intelligent, seeing as how he did the least name calling, the rest of you reduced yourselves to the level of 5th graders (or was that an improvement for you, I can’t tell). I must say **Drunky Smurf** still has more guts than anyone else, but he had to back off when the shit actually hit the fan…for that I don’t blame him. However, if anyone else here at the SDMB ever got caught in a crossfire, I’d surely step in on his/her thread and gladly assist in returning blows…I’d even side with you who have been so quick to pass sentence on me. As for this thread…I have lost interest, don’t worry, I’ll check it now and again, even post something from time to time, give you more fuel to crucify me with if you like. So please, carry on, maybe after several pages worth you’ll actually come up with a half decent insult, or at least one that doesn’t make me laugh quite as much. 🙂 ---

Oh - and possibly yourself as well, which I guess would have been something like a fair outcome, especially if the oncoming driver survived. Two dead assholes for the price of one. Do you really, truly, honestly believe you did the right thing? And, where do you live? Where do you work? Where do you shop? No, I don’t have any intention of hunting you down, I just want to know if I need to move and/or change jobs to get away from you. ---

Same net effect. I guess I don’t see while a cool down period is necessary. You notice a tailgater. You slow down a little, move slightly to the right side of your lane. When he starts to make his passing move, take your foot off the gas to slow down further (or even brake a little, if there is no-one else behind you) and let him complete it, then drive and think no more about it. If he does not begin a passing move in a reasonable amount of time, keep slowing down gradually to encourage him. Aside from a momentary frown and a mumbling of “schmuck!” at a tailgater, I don’t get the emotional investment that would cause one stress. The only tailgate incident I can recall in my life with any specificity too place on an empty two-lane highway at night when some clown got close and stayed behind me, though the left lane was open. I guess he was trying to save a few pennies on gas by slipstreaming. I slowed from 100km/h to around 60 and he stayed with me. Then I just shrugged, floored it, went briefly to 140km/h and left him behind, never to be seen or cared about again. ---

No one asked me but I always try to let the tailgaters pass me. I’d rather be able to watch them through my windshield than in my rear-view mirror. They can cause fewer problems for me up there. And since I sometimes drive just a little over the limit, I’d really prefer to let them run interference and garner the tickets that I might have received from the waiting officers. **Bosstrain** , you never answered **E-Sabbath** ’s question on whether you were driving an 18-wheeler. Not that any response would justify your absurd actions, but I’m just curious. And what do you think will happen when sooner or later you meet someone with fewer brain cells and more firepower? ---

Here’s something of interest for you… 1. If you claimed that 40 in a 35 was about as high as you can go (on that road) before testing each others egos, then “Stomp the gas” to who knows what higher speed in order to teach someone a lesson, then why didn’t you go at that speed in the first place? 2. Does driving for no more than 8 years in your young life without accidents ensure that you will never have any accidents in the future? Care to elaborate? 3. Why do you allow others control your emotions? Wouldn’t you rather be in control of your own emotions? Wouldn’t that be a better response than “Stomp on gas”? C’mon guys, you’re letting **Monty** have the spot light here, he’s up by at least 10 points. **Yeticus Rex** is in a close second by my count, but he’s still being left far behind. This thread should definitely be moved to the Game Room. I’m just not entirely sure how to track the score. Thoughts? Back when my brother used to play ‘hit the brakes’ with tailgaters, someone got shot doing that and he heard about it on the news, so he started playing chase the tailgater instead…harder to shoot someone when they’re behind you. That’s just a tidbit to keep you all fueled, see what you can do with that for now, I’ll check back with you later, maybe you’ll need more inspiration. Oh, and I love how **Rekd** ’s first post is joining in on the rock throwing contest. You guys should be ashamed, you’ve tainted such a young **Doper**. Shame, shame, shame (I don’t know if you have those douchebags who stand out in front of businesses with those signs or not, but it’s still funny, I always laugh when I see that, and then you can’t even read the small type at the bottom, just the shame part). ---
