I Pit the Pampered Chef Party I went to

Well, the OP appears to have resolved itself (good for you!)

I just wanted to come in and say that I love Pampered Chef parties - Epicure too. It’s funny to look at my fantastic collection of PC and E items when you consider how seldom I cook.

I do use my pampered chef avocado knife all the time though. (I like avocados).

If she just wants the $220, maybe you could give her the cash plus something you baked with the cool toys you got?

Humble pie!

Well. Came to a pile-on and a nice, polite thread broke out. Good for you, badkitty.

Alright! Doper chick poker party! We’re planning to drive to the east coast of the U.S. sometime in the next couple years - probably next year. We’ll have to line up a massive poker party for then.

Good on you, badkitty. I’m relieved to hear you’re taking care of it all.

Some other people have made good suggestions about setting something up with your bank to guard against this in the future and I’d agree. A savings account linked with the checking account might be a good buffer.

It’s usually a bad idea to get into a pissing match with someone who has more resources than you. First they can report you to telecheck and any store using that system will not take a check from you. Second they could drive you deeply into the negative with fees. Chase bank charges $6 for a desposited item that is returned but $25 - $35 for an NSF check. Good commerical accounts can get that $6 fee waived based on their relationship with the bank. So if they keep trying to collect funds, you will be taking up to a $35 hit each time while they take $6 at most and possibly none. If it keeps you negative and your other items start to bounce, you are going to be in for hundreds of dollars of fees. If you can’t make the account positive in 45 days, the account gets charged off and you go into chexsystems. Get into that system and you will have a hard time getting an account at another bank for up to five years.

This isn’t speculation, I’ve seen it happen, especially with those check cashing placing. They will run through the check every couple of days trying to collect funds. Explaining to a customer why their account is negative $600 isn’t fun and a few people have cried at my desk over the situation. Imagine your Social Security check is $950 and your checking account is negative $600. It’s direct deposit so you can’t avoid paying the fees and only have what’s left over to live on for a month.

Glad this thread worked out well ^^

Not so fast:

I volunteer to be the dealer!

Good on you, badkittypriestess.

I hate “me too” posts, but what the hell, I joined in the pile-on, I can join in the hugfest. Well done, badkittypriestess.

Nice one.

What caused the change of heart?

Dear badkittypriestess… yah I’m just seconding what everyone else has said.

Dear** everyone else**… thanks for making this the most enjoyable thread I’ve read all week.

Can we nominate a Pit thread for threadspotting?

Being reamed an industrial-gauge new one in the Pit?
Some people just calm down and see the error of their ways after they’ve had a good vent. I was on the receiving end of an odd example only this week (there’s a story there, but it can wait for now).

Joining in the chorus. I’m glad you are making amends, badkittypriestess. I’m also throwing in my vote for getting some kind of protection set up on your account, so you don’t have the harrowing experience of bouncing a check again.

I’m piling on, too, with the “Great that you saw the light!!” but, just before giving her the Humanitarian of the Year Award, can we find out if she feels the least remorse for yanking our chain with her hissyfit of an OP? Otherwise, I’m starting my own OP that complains about the mean treatment I got yesterday when I went into my bank wearing a ski mask and pointing a shotgun and screaming “Everyone, pull your pants down and lie on the floor and no one will get murdered!!” I mean, I’ll apologize later and everything for being out of line with my OP, but for now I just need to vent, ya know what I mean?

Why does she owe us an apology for our own reaction. It was pretty clear on page one that she didn’t think she was starting a four page pile on. She didn’t participate after it was obvious that was what was going on.

You are the LAST person who should bitch about people “yanking our chains”.

My bank also offer draft protection which ties to a no-annual fee credit card. They will withdraw in increments of $100 up to your credit limit if you are ever overdrawn.

And good for sticking around, badkittypriestess. It’s not easy eating crow yet you were mature enough to do it.

Next lesson: How to say “no” to shit you don’t need.
