Anyone who types their name in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS isn’t amenable to reason anyway. It’s a variation of the warpage that causes some people to use multiple exclamation points.

**Louis** , people deal with hearing about tragedy (comatose rape victims, 9/11 victims, etc.) in different ways, and some people make jokes.
It doesn’t mean they’re being disrespectful to the victims. I personally like the quote from _Inherit the Wind_: “Lady, if you lose the power to laugh, you lose the power to think straight.” There are times when you really do have to laugh, because if you can’t laugh the sheer amount of tragedy in the world would make you go insane, and sometimes laughter helps.
This is the Pit. This is where people come to rant, let loose, blow up, and get it out of their system. It’s a forum in a message board on the Internet, and talking about it here is a hell of a lot more cathartic–and useful–than subliminating it or taking it out on someone else.
