Well, maybe not in detail suited to contract law, but I don’t think Torah is real friendly to dishonest scales (“dynamic scoring” anyone?)–I know Proverbs condemns them–and there are primitive welfare-state regulations in Torah itself. Can we get a rabbi in here?
In any case, we’ve gone past arguments about the extent of the welfare state to the Gingrich/Armey/T.E.A. Party plan to actually bankrupt the country so the other side loses.

Please try to keep up with the class. The topic under discussion is a tax increase on the first $100k-ish of income. The issue, thus, is the use of political power to insure that other people pay for government services.
