I rented The Bourne Identity and watched it a couple of hours before seeing Supremacy. The difference was amazing, I’ve now got Paul Greengrass on the top of my never-watch-again list of directors.
It was damn near unwatchable, the car chase scenes were nauseating and I kept feeling the need to look away and focus on a nice solid seat to relieve my poor abused eyes.
OTOH, the film stuck and melted in the last five minutes, so we got our money back.
Ronin had the best car chase scene ever filmed. Both car chase scenes were better than the one in The Bourne Supremacy. There were no shakycam scenes in that movie.
Well, you see- in those movies you mentioned- it also “adds a certain feeling”- and that feeling is “nausea”. What I really despise is the asslicking film critics who will rave on & on about the "fantastic chase scene’- without warning us that it’ll make us harf.
I think it started with “The Blair Witch Project”- but there it kinda made sense. Not that I didn’t hate that film anyway.
