Or think about how the world holds up the perpetrators of acts of genocide as heroes, or the how the world holds up societies that committed act of genocide as great societies.
I am sorry about writing “swallow” instead of “shallow.”
Dude, what the FUCK are you on about? Jesus, I cannot WAIT until the day you are finally nailed as the fucking troll you really are, and they ban your sorry ass out of here.
It takes a lot for me to consider somebody a troll, but you seem like an intelligent guy and I just can’t reconcile the above inanity with the fact that the US Open just finished today. Yes, it’s obvious the world is fucked when people have sufficient leisure time and resources to play golf. They should build a cross out of golf clubs and crucify every player. They could even put the crosses out in a driving range. Bonus points for head shots. OK that’s enough bitter sarcasm for one day.
Maybe I am not as intelligent as you think, but I cannot see any justification for spending millions and millions of dollars for playgrounds for the rich when people are starving to death. But, people do not need a justification. This is just what the lucky people do. They have their fun while the rest of humanity suffers. This is just how it is, and how it will be until the end of humans.
Geez, now I feel guilty about dragging our whole office to that Astros game a couple of weeks ago. OTOH they won, which is more than I can say about them lately.
I am amused in a morbid sort-of way that after 2.5 went as far as to tell me in another post (too tired to look it up now) that power is the only thing that matters and that public opinion of the US is completely unimportant, he (I’m only assuming it’s a he) is posting this.
I’m going to do what I always do. Keep my power needs low, try to help out those I can, and, in this case, make a sammich.
Bullshit. You cannot simultaneously condemn the amoral universe and defend it. You are, as you always are, trying to provoke a reaction, and the day the admins finally push the ban button will be a day of celebration.
I’ll take a sammich, if anybody’s still offerin’. Pastrami on rye, please.
And just in case the OP is serious (I have my doubts) - the world is a big, ugly, brutal, violent, terrifying, wonderful, beautiful, compassionate, interesting, and ultimately fantastic place. Do what you can, with what you can, where you are.
It’s pretty funny that anyone would choose professional golf as a counterpoint to charity. Have a look at how the PGA tour works: every tournament is run so that local charities receive all the profits. The players, however well paid, are just travelling around collecting money for charity - many, many millions of dollars of it.
This is a perfect model for helping others. You can’t help the poor by becoming one of them. The more I earn the more I contribute - this year I added a payroll deduction to The Wesley Mission.
