You are not wrong in saying that a person known to be right-leaning is going to be more poorly-received making these kinds of comments than someone known to be left-leaning. (I think it’s a matter of opinion if you think it is fair to take a person’s political leanings in mind when responding.) As a left-leaning board that is to be expected. People don’t just get a pass because they express liberal opinions.
