You are saying growing up in a trailer park, dirt poor, is a fanciful creation of my imagination? I know where I grew up. I know what I saw. People beat or shot because they were on the wrong block and were from the wrong island. If you thought someone from Cuba loved his fellow immigrant from Haiti you are naive at best and delusional at worst.
Crime might be going down now but the 80s weren’t the safest decade.
You are truly delusional if you think that every neighborhood in America is safe to walk at night while white or noticeably different than the local majority. Delusional. You are exhibiting some pretty strong biases based on luck.
First of all, now you have moved to the 80’s when the post was
“And many places in America aren’t safe for a white man to be in after dark or even during the day.”
Second of all, are you claiming that Cubans are white and the Haitians kills them for being white?
Third, I grew up in a flipping RV park, so I call shenanigans oh your whoa is me as the world keeps the white man down. I can almost guarantee that your above claims are based on drug and gang violence. It wasn’t random white dude getting shot for daring to walk through “many” neighborhoods due to some massive hate crime spree. You had rooms and I’m still not complaining.
Trump wouldn’t be resorting to race bating with old cases where the real victims were the minorities blamed for and falsely convicted of the crime if he had new material.
Note that the claim was not that there were unsafe neighborhoods, but that there were unsafe neighborhoods for white men.
You don’t get to play the very real problem with other causes of violence to demonstrate that white men are some form of special target.
Do you have anything to show that isn’t just opinion, I am sure the bigiots in the all lives matter camp would pay big bucks for it.
telling the truth is not bigotry; those who would call it so are not just part of the problem, but are the problem, this noble lie “ends justify means” things that was best described on South Park’s “My Future Self and Me” episode. Bill also does not engage in some “us-versus-Islam” view of the world, he simply tells the truth about things that happen in that religion’s name, in many places.
An RV park? Like at a KOA? What the hell is that? I’m having a hard time believing that a mind that can master differential geometry is stumped by the concept that certain neighborhoods are less than friendly based on skin tone. Are you saying only white people can be racist or that there is no racism?
And yes an RV park, not KOA but Good Sam for half the 7 years we were there. I still had loving parents that encouraged education and made sacrifices so I could have a better life. They put me several steps ahead in the game of life, and being white didn’t hurt either.
Also I never said I mastered differential geometry, I learned some of it for a use case and only started after age 35.
FYI KOA is a franchise, like Subway or Jimmy John’s
But it doesn’t matter if you walked up hill both directions to school while only having dust bunnies to eat. I am still waiting for anything about all these neighborhoods where white men are gunned down purely due to racial violence.
I assume that you are avoiding the question as evidence that they are a fictitious distraction.
Of course these statistics are based upon how the government decides what is or isn’t a hate crime. You honestly think the government knows every crime and the motivations? You honestly think the government applies standards with 0 bias and fairly? C’mon man you are smarter than that.
Is it possible in your world view for a woman to rape a man or attack a man based in misandry or can only those in the patriarchy with power commit transgressions?
Sure terrible things are done in the name of Islam by some minority. As I just said.
But Bill’s language often spills into saying that it’s a problem inherent with Islam, which only serves to create divisions. There’s no need to say this other than as a jumping off point for bigotry. The vast majority of Muslims are of course completely peaceful and we must not lose sight of that.
And internationally, yeah you can point to Saudi Arabia but you could also point to Indonesia.
If you’re saying that Islamic terrorism is a problem, and we shouldn’t pretend that all religions are equal in that regard (right now)…of course not, and I don’t think anyone apart from Stevie Strawman would suggest otherwise.
The cite doesn’t match the claim, there are only ~1144 crimes in total that are attributed due to someone being white in the entire year in the entire country. And those numbers included both women and men.
Nothing there shows that there are these massive number of common places where white men are in extreme danger during the day.
In fact that shows that a white male has about .0004% chance of being a victim of anti-white crime in a year.
So keep googling, just avoid getting too sucked into stormfront.
Those places aren’t safe for anyone after dark, not just white men. Anti white bigotry exists, but there is no equivalent to sundown towns - no communities in the US in which all the businesses and town officials collude to deny services to white people, and cops who threaten white people into leaving. There is no equivalent to the KKK, with more than a century of history in lynching, murder, intimidation, and brutalization.
It’s only a major issue in one (well, more like in many except for anti white) circumstance because anti black (and anti gay, or anti Jew, or anti Hispanic, etc.) are the forms of bigotry that have had a significant effect on American society and culture and history. Anti white bigotry has not driven legislation, or organized violence, or organized threats and systems like sundown towns. There are incidents, but they are few and far between, unlike anti minority incidents and organized oppression.
Anyone who chooses to live on the fringes, in their own counter-culture, is going to have trouble integrating into mainstream society, regardless of skin color. When can we stop blaming history?
History is not to blame for the KKK march in Vidor, TX in the 90s that drove out its black population. History isn’t to blame for businesses that are less likely to call back applications with black-sounding names. Nor is history to blame when racist cops that are kept on the force and supported and defended by their fellow cops. Nor for redlining policies that resulted in millions lost in property values for black homeowners in living memory. Nor for law enforcement practices that put black people in prison for longer prison terms than white convicts for the same crimes. Nor for many other current policies and practices that, all else being equal, still make it harder to succeed as a black person in America than a white person. We’ve made progress, but a lot of progress remains to be made.
And black culture isn’t a counter-culture – it’s a huge part of American culture, and has been since the country’s founding.
All these groups have to do is to become white, heterosexual christian males to avoid being lynched, shot or dragged to death behind a pickup.
I’ll start making the calls on my end if you start on your end…we can solve this entire problem by the end of the holiday weekend!!!
Dear oppressed minorities, when being chased down by white supremacists yelling “Get him, baby, Get him, baby!” Just go mainstream and turn white…no not out of fear, the real white!!!
:smack:
with regards to race, while I agree that slavery and racism has left a lasting, negative imprint on the black community, here is where the left has gone wrong in recent years: Claming that whites who point out that Cosby was right about young black men needing to “pulling their pants up” and Moynihan’s analysis about lack of nuclear family, are racist, or that welfare reform (which a Democratic POTUS signed) was “racist,” or that the death penalty (which was supported by both parties from 1992 until this year) is inherently racist (without distinguishing between principle and practice). Whites are still the majority of Americans, and more so when Hispanics are counted as white (and more Hispanics are identifying as white), and thus have every right to say things about race.
In his defense, there is absolutely no evidence that he tried to shake the hand of any female scientists on his team during or after the conference. That would have been way more aggressive than wearing a loud shirt according to everything I have learned from people here.
OTOH, have you ever considered the possibility that a significant portion of the population is both batshit insane and unreasonable? Probably not because self-awareness is more difficult than it sounds but complete insanity affects a significant portion of the population at any given time.
Feel free to call out and address these arguments thoughtfully and specifically, which seem more reasonable that the other batshit, bigoted, and cowardly lies you spew about various other topics. Maybe you’d learn something.
Oh, back to stupid crap. What’s your point here? Why is the majority status of white Americans relevant to this conversation?
You abandoned our discussion (last post was #144) about this and other topics, and I still hold that you are not accurately describing the positions and statements of the critics of the t-shirt (and other things).
Of course, the number of “liberals” or “progressives” who have actually said the things that have riled you up are a tiny minority of actual liberals and progressives. Like your ignorance of history, your inability to deal with real numbers and statistics has driven you to make absurd choices and declarations. If every time a fringe member of any group says something with which you disagree you decide that the whole group is wrong, your only solution is to become a solipsist sitting in a cave refusing to join with anyone. Since you spend all your time criticizing one group, (typically displaying ignorance of the group’s actual statements and beliefs and displaying a serious ignorance of social reality and history), one can only conclude that you are simply an unarmed Ted Kaczynski with nothing to say worth hearing.
