On one of the other points, my local newspaper has permanently turned off the comments option. I whole-heartedly approve of that editorial decision. ---

The addition of a couple of newish moderators, **Jonathan Chance** and \*\*engineer\_comp\_geek \*\*has added a bit of freshness to the board. They have not yet allowed their own personal slants to sully their moderation efforts. The older termed mods have mostly succumbed to personal bias, but not these two yet. God bless their naïve hearts. It is becoming possible to actually discuss issues without the shout down from the echo chamber. I hope it continues. ---

Perhaps we could have a forum that serves as a halfway house for members who are thinking of posting to other message boards. It should be easy to establish; merely run a script that generates responses to any new thread along the lines of: “FIRST” “lol u fag” “no u” “i8ur mom” “rofl” After a few days, one will be sufficiently acclimatized to the environment of the rest of the internet. ---
