Bannings can be for varying lengths of time, from one day to permanent. That automatically changes the poster’s title to ‘BANNED’. An admin has to manually change the title to ‘Suspended’ if appropriate. ---

The software allows for all sorts of things. vB has a comprehensive suspension/banning/warning system. The admins/mods don’t appear to have utilized it.\* Even without using the bells and whistles of the vB software, all they’d need to do is create another usergroup called SUSPENDED, based off of the BANNED group, and use that for people they suspend. Takes a grand total of five minutes … and that’s only if you’re moving sluggishly. - _Edited to add_: well, perhaps they have, but they’re still not using it to its full potential if they haven’t created a ‘suspended’ usergroup. ---

You did a good job **Giraffe** , sorry to see you step down. I’m always thankful that anybody is interested in that thankless job. It seems to me like it would be a bit like assistant supervisors at my job - the worst of all possible worlds, pressure from above, while getting reamed from below. So I hope you’ll enjoy being a civvy again. Life ( err, posting ) without responsibility certainly seems like it would have its appeal :). ---
