My favorite commercial is the _got milk?_ commericial where the little kid sitting on the poach gives a big spoonful of peanut butter to his pet dog. The dog eats off all the peanut butter and then starts sticking his tongue in and out and in and out, trying to get the peanut butter out of his tongue. He keeps on doing this throughout the commercial and at the end they say \<font face=“Impact”\>got milk?\</font\>

A dog sticking his tongue in and out, it’s funny in a weird way. 😛

I love the Ameritrade ad! “Stewart” is played by the elder Pete, from Nickelodeon’s Adventures of Pete and Pete. (I loved that show.)

I like the new Pampers commercial where you see all different kinds of mother and baby animals, with Rod Stewart’s ‘Forever Young’ playing in the background. They don’t mention Pampers until the very end, and the first time I saw it I thought it was for World Wildlife Fund or something.

I know this is a bit different, but the Budweiser Frank and Louie ads on the _radio_ are what I find the best. I personally like the one where Frank is translating for the weasel on who’s going to be at its party. The weasel’s “voice” is really funny, but when it gets to describing the “mongoose named Lynette” I can’t hold back the laughter.
I don’t know if there’s a TV ad that corresponds to this radio ad 'cause I don’t watch much TV.
Oh, the frogs suck compared to the chameleons!

I seem to be the only one who remembers another [Outpost.com](http://Outpost.com) commercial: “To make sure that everyone remembers the name [Outpost.com](http://Outpost.com), we’re tattooing our logo on the foreheads of this class of preschoolers.” You see a class of innocent-looking little kids and a scuzzy tattoo-parlor dude cleaning his equipment. The end of the ad features a room full of crying kids with the logo right on their foreheads.

I liked one ad for a fairly personal product that finally had a bit of realism in it: an old (well, white-haired) black couple is sitting on the porch. The wife talks to the camera.
Wife: Sometimes my Harold gets constipated.
Husband (looking up from his newspaper, in shock): WHAT?
Wife: That’s when I give him Philip’s Milk of Magnesia. (holds up bottle)
Husband (indignant and embarrassed): Put that away!
They then do a little commercial pitch, then cut back to the couple
Husband: Honey, we don’t even know these people!

The way he reacts always makes me laugh.

Unfortunately, I hear they’re going to pull some ads by [thetruth.com](http://thetruth.com) against the tobacco industry. They were great: the first involved a camera crew with a lie detector visiting the headquarters of a tobacco company, looking for answers, and getting tossed by security. The second involved unloading 1200 body bags (the number of people who die from smoking-related causes every day) in the street outside a tobacco company. I don’t remember why, but the ads won’t be shown anymore. Pity.

And, of course, most of Apple Computer’s ads kick butt.

Anyone remember the [Outpost.com](http://Outpost.com) commericals with the hampster being catipulted through the O in Outpost? It was the funniest thing I’d been in a LONG time.

C3, I love that commercial with Lance Armstrong!

I have a couple that I like, although I barely ever watch TV. The cartoon network had one for Scooby Doo where they mocked the Blair Witch Project that was pretty funny.

I also like the one for some .Com company with some old guy living in a hut with his wife. He has a monkey on his shoulder throwing crackers at his wife’s head. Cut to him searching the internet. Cut to him sitting at the table, monkey’s still throwing crackers, but now there’s a new lady with a bird who catches the crackers. There’s another one by the same .Com with this punk looking guy who like’s to quilt. His friends laugh, cut to search, next thing he’s quilting with a bunch of beautiful women.

It’s Yahoo. I like the one with the monkey a lot. But I like monkey commericials. How about the one with the guy who’s in the subway, and all these monkeys start climbing onto his back? He gets home, sits on the couch, turns on his Sony TV, and one by one, the monkeys scatter. I love it.

off to feed the various monkeys that are raving on my back…

I like the old Infiniti commercial where a rich guy is getting divorced and cuts everything in his mansion in half with a chainsaw. Down go the paintings, the grand piano, millions of dollars worth of stuff… But when he gets to the car, he just can’t do it. “Infiniti… own one and you’ll understand”

(Of course, I bought a competitor’s car, so I guess the commercial didn’t work! Still funny though)

I find the commercials for Lay’s Chips with Mark Messier very funny.

I don’t know if they are shown in the U.S. but they recently brought back my favourite of the four or five they have made.

Mark looses the bet (bet you can’t eat just one) and has to play one game with a junior hockey team.

Team Captain: Who are we?
Team: THE PILONS!!
Mark: hee hee

There’s a commercial for Levi’s (I think) with a guy driving a car and this weird-ass monkey puppet thing getting down to a beat in the passenger seat. They get stopped by a cop, they open up the trunk, and they’ve got jeans in there. I don’t it, but, damn, that monkey puppet is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. . .

My new favorite is kind of dumb overall, but I always laugh at one part of it. It’s for Bell South, I think…some permutation of Bell South, maybe the wireless service? And they are making the point that if you don’t use service you’ve paid for, you can get your money back. To illustrate this, this guy tries to get reimbursed in analogous situations: “I bought these diet cookies and didn’t lose any weight. Can I get some other ones?”

My favorite part is when he says to his boss, “My vacation wasn’t all that fun. Can I have my days back?”
The boss (an older man, absolutely deadpan):
“No.”
I suppose it’s one of those you have to see but my boyfriend and I laugh every time it comes on which, it seems like, is every 5 minutes.

## I like the one that is running alot now with the candidates at an elementary school and one of the little girls hands the one candidate some cheese, which he holds up his hand and says ‘No, I don’t eat cheese’. Of course everyone is shocked and the next sight you see is bound newspapers with “HE’ NO GOUDA!” as the headline. They cut to Bob Dole sitting behind a desk and he calls the guy a ‘doofus’ The ‘no gouda’ candidate then says ‘I’ve eaten cheese but I didn’t digest it’ He loses the election and is last seen sitting in an empty room on a metal chair speaking softly to himself, ‘I’m no doofus’

“Consider it a challenge…”

last year Jack in the Box had a hilarious campaign with the “Spicy, Crispy Girls” which were a take off on the Spice Girls singing obnoxiously about their chicken sandwich and at the end of the commercial it shows Jack in the office firing the advertising guy. They now have a new one featuring the “Beefy, Cheezy Boys” (or something) which are a takeoff on all those guy groups out now; they’re all crooning about how wonderful the Ultimate Cheeseburger is. Cut to Jack’s office again and Jack throws his hands up in the air and blurts: “Our target is MEN!” and the same ad guy goes “What’s a target?” Heh!
