Ladies!!! Got your eye on a special someone? Well, today is your Lucky Day! Folk custom has it that February 29th is the (only) day a gal may propose marriage to a guy. So, if you’ve been a-pinin’ after Mr. Right, you’ve got until midnight to pop the question or back on the shelf you go for another four years. Ignore me. I’m just posting nonsense so I can have a post with a Feb. 29 time stamp. ---

I finished my PhD 12 years ago today. A few years ago, I found out that the coworker three cubes down also finished her PhD on the same day on the other side of the Atlantic. I’m always amused by advertisements that use the 24/7/365 claim. I wonder what day they won’t deliver this year. Probably today I would think. That is all. ---

There is no reason at all that today should not be a holiday of epic, and by epic I mean Christmas × 4 proportions, or at the very least New Year’s × 4, since that holiday is also just based on a quirk of the calendar. I guess that means though, that we wouldn’t have to be all that creative. We would just need to sell it somehow. This reminds me of February 29, 2000, when I got quite inebriated with my friends. And we were all very proud of ourselves for doing so, since the centennial leap year only occurs once every 400 years, making it bigger than Woodstock, or at least it seemed that way after most of a bottle of Jack. > [@](#): > > Wookie Life Day would be better than this.
