Can I be the lone voice of dissent and say that I really enjoyed I, Robot?
I thought it was great. Granted, I’ve never read any Asimov, but I, Robot the movie was awesome.
I read Asimov’s books and I enjoyed the movie as well. I wasn’t expecting it to be like the movie so pretty much took it on it’s own merits. Anyone who actually expects a movie to be just like a beloved book is in for a disappointment. If you basically go in with the idea that the movie might resemble the book slightly (hey, there WERE robots in it, yes?? :)) then it makes things much better.
Even when movies are pretty close to the book I’m usually disappointed that they didn’t put in this or that scene than I remember so fondly (I had a lot of those type moments in Lord of the Rings, for instance…though I still loved the movies).
