I, Robot: Will not suck?

As I and others on this Bard ave mentioned many times, the Ellison screenplay (I never heard that he collaborated with Asimov, although Asimov wroe the original, and apparently approved of the screenplay) has been published in an illustrated edition. I’ve read it – it tells the story without being episodic and without flashbacks or narration. That is a neat trick, but Ellison can be a helluva screenwriter. It’s just too damned bad that, now that they’ve got CGI, they didn’t film that creenplay.

I’ve noticed a lot of this – there’s too much “dumbing down” of science fiction ideas in the movies. God forbid somebody should have to think.

It’s quiet.

Too quiet!

:smack:

My own thread coming back to haunt me.

Good one!

It’s the evil robots! Run!

Saw rather interesting commentary on the film.

Looks like Will’s been hitting the Mountain Dew a bit too hard.

Screw whether it’s faithful to the original or not (mostly becoz I know it won’t be - and lets face it, I read half a chapter of Asimovs work and found it rather unappealing), my main concern was how it would be handled visually.

Some scenes look stunning but the robots suck. They look like they were drawn on by my cousin sister (who’s five).
