Actually he just bought a single wine cooler. I had the impression he’d been out working the mall or something and his friends were taking him home and someone said, “Hey! Wouldn’t it be hilarious to go to the liquor store in as Easter Bunny outfit?” We could see his friends sitting out in the car, watching to see our reactions. It was really, really quiet in the store while he was in there. ---

There was no one but me and the clerk in there, and we just stared at him. The only thing said while he was in there was “$1.89 please” (or whatever). The whole thing was pretty surreal. Actually I was thinking the clerk should have carded him; no telling who was in that suit.
