I saw the most awesome thing tonight

I took a beginning ceramics class there, but it was at 7:00 am, so I don’t remember any sunsets. Just crooked vases and lots of coffee.

LA is an ugly city much of the time, but driving past downtown during the holidays is always striking.

would make a nice postcard.

When I went to visit SF in December '00, we went to this boat party. Bunch of DJ’s spinning on this boat that goes around the Bay for a few hours. The sight of the City, all lit up and framed by the posts of the Golden Gate Bridge made me say “Yes. I am staying here.”

(Okay so that wasn’t THE determining factor, but that is The Moment when I decided to move to San Francisco.)

Also, one night in late March or early April of '01, in Gilroy CA, I saw the Northern Lights. We were on a 900 acre ranch with no city/street light for miles and miles… I saw the most amazing green/red/purple shimmering curtains of light in the sky. I swear, I could hear them chiming. It was eerily beautiful.

Something like that… minus the aliens.

Yikes! Nope, no one had. And in fact, it hadn’t occurred to me, either. But you’re absolutely right; they sure do.

Oh my gosh! A fellow GCC student! Who was your teacher? Kibler? Poore? Bruce?

Some girl with psychic power, she said, “T-Bone, what’s your sign?”
I blink and answer, “Neon!” I thought I’d blow her mind.
She’s reading Moby Dick by some fruitcake named Herman,
She’s chomping on a knockwurst, was the duchess really German?
You ask so many questions, what answers should I choose?
Is this really Butte, Montana, or just existential blues?

T-Bone…my hero!
