I remember when hair was a political statement, but nowadays does it mean anything except a personal fashion? (Maybe you’re thinking of white-supremacist “Skinheads”, but isn’t that pretty localized?) If I didn’t want to please my girlfriend, I’d probably just shave my head three times a year, and never pay for a haircut again. ---

I shaved for about 3 months or so back in 2001 before I realized that keeping a smooth pate was as much trouble as “normal” hair maintenance had been, so I switched to trimming every couple of weeks. ---
