My ex-fianceé, Shauna, used to shave. Sometimes completely, other times she’s keep a little patch shaped like a heart. Once we got engaged, she sculpted it into a “K.” Kevin’s my real name, and she said it was to mark my territory. _THAT_ was incredibly sexy. So, all you shavers…how _you_ doin’? 😉 Still, I like the feel of a nice bush when I’m…ahem…

Neosporin before and a tiny bit after shaving eliminates regrowth itch for some.

Not to be prude or anything like that but . . . does anyone else find that totally shaved pubs make them feel like a pedophile? I have recent found that I do like the “crew cut” approach -nothing shaved, everything trimmed real short. No scratchy stubble, doesn’t need to be done as often as shaving. The trimmer also reports it’s neater at certain parts of the cycle.

No more than feeling like I’m having an affair just because my sweetie got his hair cut and looks different. I’ve always felt a teensy bit offended by guys who couldn’t tell the difference between a fully-growed woman with no pubes, and a little girl…sort of like the people who’d say “Don’t cut your hair short! You’ll look like a boy!”

mmhmm… my mother and I have a few arguments over this…

Her POV: Don’t pubes serve a purpose? as in preventing infection, etc?

My POV: Yes Mom, same purpose as pit hair. Vestigial. I wear underwear. I think it’s a bit more effective than pubes at preventing things like germs that you don’t want in _there_. (that is not a double entendre, thank you)

Also, I believe SOME people develop naturally with little or no pubic hair. This may be incorrect, I have no cite.

 Damn, if that’s not enough reason to trim her pubes …

Mama’s sold me. I totally forgot to go pick up Bikini Zone last night but I AM going to get some.

Saph, for you I’d shave the world. 😉

And ya know… I do get that weird “Eww” feeling if I’m with a guy who’s too into me being clean shaven. I dont automatically think he’s a pedophile, but I must admit that I probably start looking for reasons to find him creepy.

Luckily, mr. malk could care less what I do with my pubic hair, so long as he’s still eligible for regular examinations of my work. 😉

And no, I dont just shave once and let it grow back. The biggest problem is that I’ve shaved like 9+ times since last week. I’ll shave twice a day, sometimes… but it never seems like I’m quite done. Arrrghh!

Anyone got an informed opinion on waxing? =)
You guys are the best, btw. Gotta love this place.

I’ll check in for that statement… I have (naturally) what amounts to a happy trail from about 1" below my navel, er, straight south. I look like I have a mowhawk _down there_

The entirety of it all is removed every so often with one wax strip.

I have a perfectly normal amount of hair everywhere else, though.

**Playdeaux** has some good advice there. I’m one of those women with sensitive skin, but I’m determined to shave anyway, and that’s the list of precautions I use.

I do have one thing to add - Jergens just came out with _Naturally Smooth_ lotion, which makes hair grow slower, sparser, and finer.

The downside is that it takes a month or two of continuous use to notice the difference, but the less hair you have to shave off, the less irritation you get.

I once tried to shave the hair on the back of my neck myself(since I was unable to get to my hair dresser) - that was very regrettable. It also itched.

NINE YARDS!?!?! How do you ride a bike? Do you have to sling it over your shoulder to keep it from getting caught in the spokes or chain?

And I just want to say that _that_ sentence is wrong on a couple levels. It makes me want to pour Clorox in my ears in hopes of cleaning my brain. I’m not sure which wording would be worse though: freshly shaved Mama or freshly shaved Hen.

I wasn’t going to mention it, because I don’t want to embarrass **Unca Cecil** , but yeah, nine yards. That’s the origin of the expression. And our poor Unca has tried so hard to find out where it comes from, too.

P.S. Inside joke: add a “lol ;)” at the end of this post.

**malkavia** , as a regular shaver, the only advice I can give is to keep shaving. I have really sensitive skin, and for the first three to four weeks after I decided to go bald all over (I’m a former Charlie Chaplin mustache-wearer) it was prickly and bumpy. Use mild soap, like Jergens or Ivory, not shaving cream, and forget about a “girlie” razor. I use a regular double-blade razor with the little aloe strip. Gotta do it every day, but it’s worth it. Smooth as a baby’s butt.

Good luck and happy shaving.

I’ll second the ‘shave every day’ mantra. It’s just necessary. Definitely use a normal razor and be VERY CAREFUL around your more sensitive parts, and use a gentle soap and MOISTURIZE afterwards!

“pedophile” was tougue in cheek - should have used a smiley. I’ll do better next time.

I’m fine w/ short or long hair, head or pubes. If it makes you feel sexier to be bald either place than you will be sexier. I guess that is the case since it’s seems to be a lot of work to maintain that “look”.

Malkavia-
Shaver here. I always kept “tidy”, and had gone bald for out of curiosity once of twice, but about a year ago my SO
asked about just getting rid of all the hair down there.
I did so happily and never went back, I agree with capybara in that it would feel unsanitary or something at this point.
Howver, I have not forgotten the itchy feeling I had the first week or two. If you keep shaving daily, though, you wont notice it at all before long.
I went through a stage when i used Bikini Bare, and it was
INCREDIBLE. The whole area was completely smooth and tingly. MMMmmmm…
One night, though, right after my shower, my boyfriend decided to…ummm…get busy down there…
and lemme tell ya apparently NAIR-flavored residue=not good. His face looked just like a baby’s the first time you try to feed them strained peas. SO FUNNY!
Poor thing!
So I’ve been back on razors for a while. Just a little side
effect worth noting!
🙂
Oh-and the prepubescent thing? Nah. Doesnt bother me. I think men think it’s just more accessible and easier to…manipulate…without the fur coat. Plus, look at porn.
Most of those grown women are shaved. Better view, I guess!
