> Okay, now you’ve got me worried. I was a 50’s kid in San Diego, watched a LOT of TeeVee, LOVED the old WB cartoons as a child (and still do), thought I’d seen them all numerous times, and yet the Albuquerque line rings no bells for me. Can you (or anybody) determine how many times Bugs delivered the line? Or is this thread an elaborate hoax to gaslight me?

I’m not sure how many times he delivered the line. All I know is I saw it all the time on TV in the late 70s-early 80s when they played the old cartoons. I wonder if different broadcast areas bought a different “package” of syndicated cartoons they could play, and the couple people here who hadn’t seen it were in an area that didn’t buy that cartoon. I’m sure I’ve seen a cartoon in which Bugs emerges from a horizontal hole he’d been digging to deliver the line at least 10 times.

Late-era Boomer here, loved watched Bugs Bunny cartoons on Saturday mornings (although they were already 10-20 years old when I first saw them), and I totally get the reference.

We saw them on the big screen at the Saturday matinees. They always had a cartoon or two (or a serial episode) before the main feature, which was either a western or some goofy comedy.

Yes. In that episode he is playing Jack’s plumber. He speaks with something close to Bugs’ Brooklynese accent.

Another one of Benny’s stock actors was Frank Nelson, who appears at 8:05. He was best known for his catchphrase [“eeeYESSSSSS?”](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JA_r1Ynl4Ls) He started on Jack’s radio show as well. I think Looney Tunes might have used that one sometimes also. They were full of catchphrases from radio and early TV (as well as creating their own.)

As a Black character, Rochester was interesting for the time because although he was a servant, he wasn’t the least bit subservient to Benny. As the clip showed, he often got the better of him.

Mel Blanc not only voiced people, he also provided the “voice” of Benny’s [1923 Maxwell Roadster](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17N2g2Ryqi8) (which Benny drove because he was so cheap).

1970, did the same check.

I have an Italian coworker who was born in 1973. He knows all the roadrunner cartoons, which don’t have much to be translated. There are a number of animated shows we discuss over coffee, including Star Blazers.

My husband, who is also American, and only 2 years older than me, never saw this show, but probably because he didn’t watch The Great Space Coaster as much as I did.

> La Linea ("The Line") is an Italian animated series created by the Italian cartoonist Osvaldo Cavandoli. The series consists of 90 episodes, which were originally broadcast on the Italian channel RAI between 1971 and 1986. The background tune for the series was created by Franco Godi.
> The series features a man known as "Mr. Linea" (voiced by Carlo Bonomi in a grammelot similar to the Milanese dialect) drawn as a single outline of an infinite line, which encounters various obstacles during his wa...

For this, most Pink Panther cartoons work well too.
