So, since being laid off on Feb 3rd, I have been in negotiations with a company to start a new job. The Salary is close to 25% more than what I was being paid at my old job, which makes the nearly 1 hour commute more bearable. They had agreed to everything, but kept stalling on the start date. Finally they came up with a start date but came in with an offer 5% less than originally agreed. I was tempted to just take it and move on, because it was still a salary increase. But on that same day I got two interviews for other jobs and I decided that I had enough options to take the gamble (and the support of the hiring manager, which is key) and turn them down. This morning at 7:45 they called me up and made the full offer. I have it in writing too. And so, gone are the days of sleeping in (OK, I was up at 6:15 today, but still) and the days of watching a movie in the middle of the day. But back are the days of getting paid. 🙂 ---

Congrats, **Khadaji**! Mr. brown, after three years of unemployment and temporary employment, was hired last September full-time at a biotech here in the bay area. I didn’t post about it then, because I was spooked by the long fruitless job search and didn’t want to jinx the new job. So yes, there’s some job mojo going on, **twickster**.
