I support the Bible class in Odessa, TX.

All it takes is one teacher or principal with an agenda and the rights of students in any given school will be violated. Classes will not be monitored on a day by day basis and all too many teachers do not value separation of church and state on the level which would be required.

When I was still teaching, I ran into frequent problems with religious pressure from Christian fundamentalists, including from administrators.

A simple test. Let’s see what would happen to a student doing a report using science and archeology to show that the Bible is not literally true. If the board were forced to permit it, I bet they’d cancel the class real fast - just like what happened when gay groups claimed the same rights as Christians to hold meetings in school.
