Who, Joy? Yep, I’ll be in big trouble for that comment! Seriously, vanilla. I’ve long held a theory that folks such as H4E are either sent or at least “encouraged” to come take us heathens to task on our hometurf. Those encouraging them are folks such as Chick and Chuck; it’s their so-called spiritual leaders who’re sending out their minions completely untrained and unprepared for what will ensue. And their sole word of advice to this “army” is “You will be a martyr.” That’s all it takes for some folks. Oh, she’ll be back. Much like the euglena, she has a single mode of motivation. ---

Well, it’s already been established that I’m an asshole, so I’ll just be the one to say it. **His4Ever** , I do not respect your views – I do not expect you to respect my views and I couldn’t care less. I was born, for example, in the House of the Good Samaritan Hospital, and attended the church that founded it. But for the Jews, the Samaritans were **evil** – half-castes, who had married outside Jewry, who held a renegade version of the Bible that read differently from their own and omitted most of the books they accepted, heretics at best and the equivalent of Moslems to fundamentalist Christians – though they claimed to worship the same God as the Jews, their beliefs about Him were so different as to constitute belief in a quite different God to the Jews’ eyes. If Jesus were telling the parable today, he’d have Billy Graham and Dick Cheney drive by without a look sideways at the man lying by the side of the road, and then have the man who stops and shows human kindness to him represented as a gay Arab with Neopagan beliefs. I will never ask you to stop standing firm on Bible-based beliefs, **His** , but I ask you to do what Jesus said that we should do – and if you believe that your posts in the threads on homosexuality were showing Christian love to people, then explain why they were nearly universally acclaimed as showing hate. If you could say to one of the gay people here, “Yes, I think what you’re doing is sinning, but I’m a sinner too – and I have found a new life in Christ. How can I help you deal with the hatred people have aimed at you? I want to help.” – then you’d move from apparent hatemonger to Christian woman doing what God told her to do in everyone’s eyes, just by that very act. ---

Hi, **Polycarp**. I’ve decided to try my best not to post here anymore (it’ll save me computer time 😉 ) but I will respond to your post. You have some good points. I have yet to learn, believing as I do, to figure out how to show love to everyone here’s satisfaction and yet not compromise the truth I believe in. Do you realize that Christians can share the truth in a loving manner and still be accused of hatred? It’s because some simply don’t like the message. I do not know if I can agree totally with the following that you posted, but most of it is good. **If you could say to one of the gay people here, “Yes, I think what you’re doing is sinning, but I’m a sinner too – and I have found a new life in Christ. How can I help you deal with the hatred people have aimed at you? I want to help.” – then you’d move from apparent hatemonger to Christian woman doing what God told her to do in everyone’s eyes, just by that very act.** I don’t think that “how can I help you deal with the hatred, etc.” would be the only thing I should say but let’s not get into that okay? I appreciate your not talking to me in a nasy manner though we may be on opposites ends of this hot issue. This post it directed to **Polycarp** only. I don’t intend to respond further. **His4Ever** , while I agree with much of what **Polycapr** has said, I’d like to add that I can certainly understand your viewpoint of homosexuality as a sin. **Poly** and I aren’t necessarily on the boat, but, I can get it. But, I take a loving eye to my fellow man, as much as possible, especially _those who may not be Christians_. Remember, 1) the Bible won’t convince a non-Christian of it’s own validity. Many here know that I will post raw science, raw logic, or raw opinion, if I’m on a non-Christian/Bible thread. For example, my war posts and my abortion thread had no Bible in them. 1. Love converts. It really does. Do you know how many Gay people go to church, even one where they can’t be ‘out’, just to feel someone’s love and compassion? All kinds of them. More importantly, some Christians, like myself, will even battle Bible-wise with other Christians, _if it seems as though they are hurting people_. **Polycarp** , who I consider a great man, and a wonderful ally in many things has had my back at least twice that I can remember. So, in addition to _love_, you can add _I don’t want to hurt you, and I don’t want other’s to hurt you_ to the list of conversion tools. This is an extension of **Poly** ’s _How can I help you_, which is the other tool. **Polycarp** certainly has love for you, and _you can hear it_. I do too. I hope you can hear it. **DrChuckie** ’s conversion methods are like putting a burning cross in a black person’s yard to remind them that Jesus loves them. You might not be with the KKK, but you can scare the _shit_ out of people if you don’t know what other’s are saying to them as well. The word ‘abomination’ is not a loving word. ‘Stop your sodomy, or you’ll go straight to Hell’[paraphrase] (and I swear he used ‘lobster gobbling’ somewhere, which has a humorous Biblical significance I’m sure he didn’t get. Tow ebah, ha ha) is _not_ a loving message. I think your heart is in the right place. You just need to let your heart out a little more. _You’ll always be our sister._ ---
