I woke up yesterday with the right side of my jaw hurting. Now today it hurts even more and when I bite down my bite is off and I can’t get my right molars to contact. This really sucks because when I eat my front teeth now impact each other, making for a really unsettling sensation. Thankfully the pain doesn’t hurt so bad now, except when I open wide. Anyone here ever have something like this happen? I’m going to my Doctor Friday morning for a routine check-up and will ask him about it, just in case. Man, I just ate a steak and did not enjoy that at all! ---

This exact same thing happened to me two years ago. It took a few months for my jaw to finally act normally again. By normal, I mean not randomly getting out of alignment where, like you, I couldn’t get my molars to contact on the right. Occasionally it would pop out/ misalign/ hurt real fucking bad, usually when I was eating. It felt like my jaw was stabbed with an ice pick when it would happen. I have never had jaw problems before or since. Our medic told me to suck it up and deal with it. I did.
