You know, I recently upgraded my Google Earth to a new “Super” Google Earth that’s supposed to have more content (or something) and one of the things that popped into my head was the Nazca Lines. Well, you can see some of the lines, but the figures are not in high enough resolution to see. They have them bubbled with stock pics, but you can’t come zooming in from space and see them. And the [English dude with the giant cock](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cerne_Abbas_Giant) is a hoot! Priorities, let’s let the aliens know we are some hung mofos. I guess that didn’t work, so maybe the aliens will like the strippers better (works for me). ---

I’ve flown over the Nazca lines twice now – I live about 4 hours away – and have been to the Maria Reiche museum. Nobody knows what those dang things were for, but they are neat. I’ve heard theories ranging from fertility rites to astral projection to spaceship landing sites, etc. Unfortunately, local jackholes think it’s cool to drive up to and over the lines, so they’re degrading. Peru’s poor enough that they can’t hire adequate security, plus the Nazca plateau is huge, so they can’t seal it off effectively. ---

The last article I read blames the garbage haulers. The trash trucks take the shortest route and they are destroying the Nazca lines. I’m sure other’s do it also. ---
