I got the impression from the end of that episode that she is somebody that is going to cause trouble in the “future”. If not an outright enemy, a very powerful person with their own motivations that don’t jibe with the Doctor’s. ---

I loved that look that Capaldi gave when Clara says, I’m not going anywhere. So with the conclusion of this two parter, Maisie may not exactly be a companion, but certainly she seems like she is at least going to have a recurring role on the show. Last I read Barrowman said that he would love to be in the show again, but something was impeding it, bit fuzzy on the details, would be nice though, if thats what Capaldi was forshadowing. ---

Well he’s busy on _Arrow_, but I don’t think Moffat has any great love for the character, despite writing his first appearance (_The Empty Child_). Captain Jack was always a Russell T Davies character really.
