Thanks a bunch, **OneCentStamp** , for the summary. I was about to do it myself, and I know how long it would have taken. Nice job. It’s fascinating, isn’t it, how we got from Cossack to Halifax in such a round-about way. Seeing how the vowel sounds and even some consonants are similar between the end-words, I wonder if anybody is up to the challenge of connecting Cossack to Halifax in one or two words (three at most). Think of it as a spin on the puzzle where you change HEAT to COLD one letter at a time. A “middle word” might be _halfback_ if that helps. ---
