I got a '73 VW Bug stuck in a tree once. All four wheels off the ground, no one was hurt and thanks to the USFS, I drove it home. ---

I’ve never had a hole-in-one in golf, but I’ve had a hole-in-three. I hit my tee shot into a lake, took the one stroke penalty and re-teed, and put that shot in the hole. True story. ---

It’s probably just a gateway to hell. Nothing mysterious once you know the truth. All those nails were cold iron and keep the demons trapped behind the door. But if one or two are slightly out of place, you get the occassional… _leak_. ---

As for the story by the OP, I see no reason to doubt anything she said as being made up, but I also don’t think that the story is necessarily meaningful as any sort of proof of the supernatural. As others said, places being colder or hearing noises or even seeing things can potentially have natural explanations, particularly when seeded with the idea that the place might be haunted. I’d be very interested in actually seeing some evidence, like maybe a photo of the door that’s not a door or something. Otherwise, it doesn’t account for much. And this is coming from someone who has been in situations I can’t explain either and don’t believe have an explanation in modern science, though admittedly not at the same level. ---

I still can’t understand why the German shepherd thought the coast was clear just because the OP flipped on the light. Dumb doggie. We kept hearing strange music downstairs too, until I figured out it was my pager going off. ---

I hesitate to post this becuause you pompous rational types won’t believe it, but here goes. One time when I was camping, a bunch of us were all running around in the woods late at night. Me and this one dude got separated from the group and we wandered way the heck away from the everybody. I saw this orange glow coming through the trees way up a hill, so we started climbing towards it. Then I caught a glimpse of the source of the lights-it was one of those big suburban houses, all lit up. We walked and walked, but we didn’t seem to get any closer. I told my friend “Do you see it? I wonder why they built it out in a forest? Maybe we can warm up inside.” Then we finally came out of the trees, and the house turned into the little concrete building with the pit toilets that was right next to our campsite. My friend was all “Dude, you’re not supposed to drink so much when you take that cold medicine.” Then, the next morning, there was ice inside my tent, even though I was totally warm. Forest ghost McMansion. ---
