Imagine my surprise when it wasn’t about ME!

Soccer is brutal.

I played soccer in high school. I broke a toe kicking a ball wrong. I also once got kicked in the face, even with cleat marks on the side of my head, and _I_ was the one who got penalized.

(To be fair, I deserved the penalty; I was a maniac when I played that sport.)

I assume this was for something you did rather than just being on the recieving end?

I once was kicked squarely and full force in the face by a team mate when I went low with my head and he went high with his boot and we were both trying to clear the ball.
My nose was broken and there was soooooo much blood.

The same player also managed to break both bones in my arm when he hammered a shot at me in training (I was in goal) and I foolishly tried to stop it.

He was a lovely, mild mannered person and good friend but also a very forceful player.

I’ve been a soccer fan since 1960, when my Dad took me to watch Tottenham Hotspur do the League and Cup double. 😍

I’ve just binge-watched the whole of the first season of [Wrexham](https://www.disneyplus.com/en-gb/series/welcome-to-wrexham/4NwOxyDF4T3A) and enjoyed it a lot. 🕶

Here in the UK it’s only available on DIsney+, but I’m looking forward to season 2.

I admit it’s addictive. I’ve enjoyed my binge of it.
