Have a look at the HP Spectre x360. We debated between that and the new Air. My wife chose the Air because it plays nice with the iPhone and ipad, but the HP seemed like a great machine.

In case anyone is curious, I did end up getting a new Macbook Pro when I found a deal that was effectively $200 off. I like the screen more than I thought I would. I like the keyboard _way_ more than I thought I would.

It’s not as powerful as I’d like, nor is the battery as beefy as I’d like, but I’m reasonably happy with it.
