This kid appears to be in high school. That makes him, what, 16 or so - born in about 1986. So his parents were probably teenagers in the 70s. A while back, I read that about 40% of high school students tried illegal drugs in the 70s. So, the odds are that at least one of his parents had done illegal drugs. So some kid with 40-odd posts here wrote a rant that was even more rambling and incoherent than it was outrageous. Especially with the school year coming to an end, isn’t this exactly the sort of thing we should be doing our best to just plain ignore? Sometimes ignoring ignorance is the best way of fighting it. ---

Let me see if I can try to get to the heart of your argument - you are mad because illegal drugs cause people to do stupid things like come to class wasted, have promiscuous sex that can lead to unwanted/unplanned for children, waste money, delude themselves into thinking they are more creative or philosophical while drugged-up, and generally not respect other people. Hmm. Sounds a lot like alcohol. Only that happens to be legal and easily available, not to mention widely advertised. Guess what? People can even use illegal drugs in moderation. I know plenty of people who used marijuana some in college, did a little nitrous, etc., and only did that rarely. Most of them stopped at some point because they didn’t get hooked and didn’t think it was all that great. If you want to rant about the devastation caused by illegal drugs, go right ahead. However, you would make a much stronger argument if you would avoid the pointless side-tracks, use a coherent argument structure, pay attention to language, grammar, and spelling, and generally try to present yourself in a good way. It does not add credibility to your argument if, as many people have posted, your post appears to have been written while under the influence of some kind of drug. ---
