Lots of good stuff here! I’m currently into this guy called Todrick Hall, who was I guess (never watched it) a finalist on American Idol (not sure WHY he didn’t win!) He’s an actor, singer, dancer, songwriter with a fun sense of humor (and easy on the eyes if you don’t mind me sayin’ so.) His videos are really well-made and look expensive so I’m wondering where the hell his money comes from. His latest video is a cover of Rhianna’s [“We Found Love”](http://www.youtube.com/user/todrickhall?feature=g-all#p/u/9/R-ATTd18qoE) with iPhone’s Siri. He first came to my attention via [“The Bieber”](http://www.youtube.com/user/todrickhall?feature=g-all#p/u/13/S4sqjDZFCP0), an original composition which isn’t really anything to do with Justin Bieber except calling it “The Bieber” would insure him a lot of views, lol (It could be about pretty much anyone if you changed the name.) The best showcase of his talents though is in the video [“I Wanna Be On Glee”](http://www.youtube.com/user/todrickhall?feature=g-all#p/u/0/d0pfVBN400g), which actually earned him a **Glee** audition. (Results still pending.) In a non-music related video…well I don’t know how to describe it. It’s called [“Stop Makin’ Me Laugh”](http://www.youtube.com/user/todrickhall?feature=g-all#p/search/0/ynXu2ncJqSk) and if you can watch it without laughing you have a black heart and no soul. Other random things you may or may not have seen: Some of Carl Sagan’s “Cosmos” morphed into a jaw-dropping, trippy, and gorgeous song. [“A Glorious Dawn”](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSgiXGELjbc) (Bonus Stephen Hawking.) If you’re a fan of the Pet Shop Boys and/or Sammy Stephens (Flea Market Montgomery) you may enjoy this [mashup](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8XmhNF0Vkw) of his commercials with the PSB’s “Minimal”. I actually started a thread about this, but in case you missed it…if you spend WAAAAAY too much time on the internet you may enjoy [“le Internet Medley”](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mghhLqu31cQ) (My [thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=630916&highlight=internet+medley) if you’re interested in dissecting the various memes.) And what would a YouTube thread be without [“Annoying Orange”](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfDaumb25T8). Oh lord, almost forgot [“Sexy Sax Man” (director’s cut, lol)](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaoLU6zKaws). Apparently my friend’s 3 year-old was so mesmerized by this she demanded it be replayed about a thousand times. (“He IS above the law though!” - LOOOOOOOL!) ---

Oh! and further pimping of Todrick: He’s met [Kingsley](http://kingsleyyy.tumblr.com/post/13086661124/keepyourswagon100-me-my-friends-kingsley-and). If you don’t know who Kingsley is please turn in your internet access pass to the security guard on the way out of the building. ---

Some of singer/songwriter/musician’s Johnathon Coulton’s songs have had World of Warcraft videos made for them by an IIRC an Adobe programmer fan. The first i heard was [Creepy Doll](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTSkWnKs9rM) which is currently my second favourite. My absolute fave is [Code Monkey](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4Wy7gRGgeA) which is best enjoyed if you have ever programmed and also played WOW. And love kittens. For hilarious rudeness also try [The Captain’s Wife’s Lament]([- YouTube](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqvA5) IyfSSQ). Technically not rude at all but probably NSFW. ---

Like classic Peter Gabriel but contemporary and from New Zealand: > > [Somebody That I Used To Know](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5c2LeMytIdo) by Gotye feat. Kimbra. NEW ZEALAND?? The guest vocalist on that track, Kimbra, may originally be from New Zealand, but Gotye is all ours! That song has been absolutely massive here in Australia. Nice to see it getting recognition elsewhere in the world too. ---

So I discovered a series having to do on lucky people (having near-death escapes and lucky saves in games and the like). [Here’s one.](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_hfDyw490g) And from there I found this guy’s series. He has nine compilations so far, although one was taken down. I watched them all and they all had at least one moment where I was impressed with how lucky the person was.
