I wanted Chinese, dammit!

I think you need to work on this a little, Jackie Chan is 5’9". And even at 63 he could kick Hannibal Lecter’s butt.

There isn’t much a dude who can disembowel you by pushing you off a balcony can’t accomplish.

So there’s this artisinal pizza place. Pricey, but good, on occasion. Nice to order on a weekend, for dinner. One weekday, at 1 pm, the place is open according to the menu, so I call. Nothing. they don’t answer. So, I can’t have pizza for weekday lunch? Oh, I have to walk in? SSheesh.

It sounded like they couldn’t handle the order. Besides, it was after 5pm on a Friday, heading into one of the few times during the debate season I don’t have a tournament on Saturday. Cocktails had been imbibed, which means delivery rather than pick up.

We’ll try again in a few hours. We are hoping to order enough to enable grazing through Monday evening.

Strangely, that was not the first thing to come to my mind – though it often does.

Based on the wording of the title I immediately thought of this.

Huzzah! We have Chinese! Sizzling Rice Soup, Shanghai lo mein, Orange Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken, fried pot stickers, wonton tacos, honey BBQ pork, sweet & sour pork chop, pineapple fried rice…the works! This place is good because they don’t over-sauce their food or over-sweeten it. The Orange Chicken actually tastes of oranges and chicken, not sugar and acid. The weekend provisions have been secured. We can step back from Defcon 2.

Anybody else remember “Cat’s in the Kettle”?

[VOICE OF HOWARD HUNTER]: Ahhh, Saigon Sally’s! :o

I’ve wanted Chinese food for quite a while. Unfortunately, our local place has had some issues recently:

Chuck Norris could knock down Jackie Chan just by scowling in his direction.

He gets knocked down, but he gets up again. you’re never gonna keep him down.

Hey, I lived in LaGrange for a while!

If Prospect isn’t too far, thiswas our go-to for takeout Chinese food.

That’s what she said!
