I got in late 9/12 and flipped to Fox and saw some of their coverage. They clearly were presenting it as an all American free speech rally and isn’t it wonderful to see Democracy in action. That’s fine except their guest commentator was Anne Coulter and it was presented as “this is how Americans really feel”
I’d review the footage but I also wonder if they showed a variety of posters. Get a shot of the Obama as witch doctor guy and the guy with the “911 was an inside job” Tshirt. Did they show even some of the wacky fringe or would that detract from the “real America” spin.
I missed this the first time I went through this thread. I don’t get how anyone can look at that and not come to the conclusion that Fox News has had a significant impact on the polarization of the political atmosphere. They’re happily creating an Us versus Them atmosphere and using lies to do it.
Of course, that segment will never have the impact it should, because Fox’s viewers don’t seem to watch anything but Fox. If Fox tells them only Fox covered the event, it’s Truth from on high.
